Michelle Ticar Schlientz, Associate AIA
Intern Architect


Michelle received a bachelor’s degree in Science from Virginia Tech. She later attended graduate school at Catholic University of America and received a double master’s degree in Architecture and in Science of Sustainable Design. Her passion for sustainability led to her participation in the 2012 Solar Decathlon competition. While at Catholic University, she also participated in design exhibitions at various art galleries in Washington, DC.

She holds a passion for educational design and programming. Michelle takes inspiration from the local environment, nature, and climate to design learning environments that bring excitement and promote creativity, while maintaining the focus of education. She takes an active role in all phases of design; from schematic design to construction administration.

Michelle has an interest in technology and is the current BIM Leader for the office. She guides the office in utilizing technology as a tool to facilitate in collaboration between consultants, clients, and internal team members.

Outside of work, Michelle likes to paint, draw and do various DIY projects such as finding old or used furniture or fixtures and refurbishing them. Michelle also enjoys cooking and baking goodies for others.
