The SAS Office Building and Executive Briefing Center attained LEED Platinum certification, one of few buildings in North Carolina at the time of completion to reach this goal.

Green strategies implemented in the building include

In addition, the specified materials were recycled, regional, low or no-VOC, and/or high performance.

The building is a seven-floor office tower partnered by an executive conference center with auditoriums, briefing and breakout rooms, and a marketplace dining facility for a total of 290,000 square feet. Each meeting room accommodates 20 to 60 people for customer visits and employee events. They are also equipped with quartz-top buffets to provide a space for catering during presentations. One auditorium accommodates 250 people in theater-style seating. An additional 150-seat auditorium features curved, fixed tables with adjustable seating and audience response systems.

Customers and employees are greeted with dynamic displays across Microtiles in the daylit atrium lobby. The executive briefing center features plug-and-play technology, enabling customer education via tabletop, wall-mounted, and flip-up countertop controls. Software demonstration stations are framed with natural materials to complement the sophisticated appearance of the Pre-function Hall. The auditoriums are equipped with rear-projection screens flanked by front-projection screens for multiple content displays. Davis Kane Architects and the team worked closely with the Owner’s technology departments to design the supportive master control and communication rooms.

From the atrium lobby, customers and employees walk down a grand stair to the Marketplace Café and coffee shop. The Marketplace offers exhibition-style farm-to-fork entrees, a salad bar, a pizza oven, a variety of pasta, and sushi. Natural light pours into the large dining room from expansive windows that overlook a scenic courtyard. Custom bar-height tables have power and data ports, as well as concealed induction warming units for catering events. In addition, the coffee shop opens onto a dining patio with seating for 80. Three smaller dining rooms are equipped with flat-panel displays for executive presentations.
